• The Government Degree College Vailoo Larnoo was established in 2011, in the Larnoo Valley (Anantnag), about 46 km from district headquarters. The college started functioning from 2012, in a rented accommodation and recently shifted to its own campus in year 2023. The land measuring 6.175 acres for the construction of college has been acquired in year 2020 and construction work has started from 2021. The construction of main college building is in final stage and the completion is expected by the end of 2024. The college infrastructure is in the developmental stage with six (6) pre-fabricated classrooms, an office, library, auditorium, two toilet blocks and one cafeteria. The college is having a rich library with over 12000 books at the disposal of student community and faculty. 

  • The college is affiliated to the University of Kashmir, Srinagar and is recognized under 2(f) of UGC Act 1956. The college is a co-educational institute offering courses in BA, and since its inception, the college is evolving, as a fair number of students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds are admitted in the college and the number is increasing year after year. Over the years the college has been working hard to impart quality education to the first-generation learners of the area. Recently, the institute has implemented NEP-2020 from academic session 2022, in which various multidisciplinary (MD), skill enhancement (SEC) and value-added courses (VACs) were introduced.

  • The college has vibrant NSS unit, Ek Baharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) cell, Red Ribbon Club and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) cell that are dedicated and competent to carry out the extension activities under institutional social responsibility. Different committees and cells are framed every year to carry out the curricular, co-curricular, financial and administrative affairs for the overall development of the institution.
