It is both a source of immense joy and profound pride for me to inform you that the Department of Economics has been an integral part of this institution since its inception in 2011. Located in the remote area of district Anantnag (JK UT), the Department has consistently been at the forefront of imparting comprehensive knowledge on economic principles and policies to its students.

At the Department of Economics, GDC Vailoo Larnoo, we extend a warm welcome to the dedicated and industrious students, inviting them to join our esteemed group and contribute to the pursuit of academic excellence and the development of proficient human capital. Our goal is to cultivate and mentor students from this remote region, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in professional and national-level competitions upon graduation. We are committed to fostering a critical approach to studies, encouraging innovation, and inspiring others. Additionally, we strive to adapt to the evolving nature of our subject, ensuring that our students remain abreast of contemporary developments and challenges.

About the department

The Department of Economics, Government Degree College Vailoo Larnoo was established in 2011. The department presently runs undergraduate academic programme, namely B.A (Major Economics). The department intake capacity for students has been fixed to 40 seats.
